Collaging with AI

Midjourney is an advanced artificial intelligence system that generates images based on text prompts from a human “collaborator”. I thought it might be interesting to ask the software to generate it’s own series of collage art (based on the simple prompt “surreal collage monochrome” in this case) and then take what it had come up with and make collages of my own, essentially collaborating with a machine intelligence. I’ll definitely be experimenting with this more as it’s a wonderful way to generate raw material for collage work. For now though, here are my first three attempts at it. Some of the original Midjourney images are pictured below.
